They provide habitat and food for countless species. Deforestation has already extinguished many life forms, and daily threatens many more. When we protect the forests we preemptively heal our home. When we plant a tree we bring hope for the future.
Trees store carbon, hold soil and water, and transpire water into the air. The water vapor condensing onto evergreen needles is a significant source of water. Trees provide homes and food for wildlife and people. Plus they are beautiful. Preserving forests and planting more native trees could prevent global warming.
